It's very cool to be able to say that my first real film was 'Footloose' and my second film I got to star alongside Tom Cruise and Catherine Zeta-Jones.Collection: Cool
I think if you alienate people and just focus on your work then it just becomes lonely and it's not fun anymore.
I'm just taking it one day at a time. Actually, that's a total lie. I always think about what's in front of me.
I'm real, and that what you see is what you get with me. I want people to know that I'm just Julianne. I'm not somebody that needs to be put up on a pedestal.
There is something so rewarding about dancing. It's almost spiritual - you let loose, you feel free, you get endorphins from the exercise.
You have to remember where you came from, and I definitely have enough brothers and sisters to kick me in the butt whenever I get out of line!
I knew if I stayed in London my whole life would be dancing. I'd won almost every major title you can. I thought 'This really isn't my passion. I really want to sing,' and I knew I wouldn't be able to if I stayed there.
I try to bring my mascara everywhere because I'm a blonde and you know blondes have really light eyelashes, you always wanna put more and more on 'til they look like spiders, that's just what I do.
Sometimes if I have a big enough purse I'll bring my perfume or something. Right now I really like Beaute, it's by Johan B. and it's really nice, so I like that.
I think every girl needs to love herself, regardless of anything. Like if you're having a bad day, if you don't like your hair, if you don't have the best family situation, whatever, you have to love yourself and you can't do anything until you love yourself first.
There was a time when my mum would sew costumes for the dance studio so we could keep doing our classes because we couldn't afford them.
I've always had God, but now I want to go back to church for the sense of community and that feeling of positive thinking, a place where I can think about being a better person.
If I had been living through the '80s, I probably would've gotten into a lot more trouble than my parents.
I definitely listened to country music. I don't think I listened to hair bands as much as I did Bruce Springsteen and U2 and Aerosmith.
I totally think there was a country hair phase. If you look at all the mullets, and Dolly Parton, and Reba's hair, Tim McGraw's hair, Blake Shelton's hair, they definitely had their moments.
Okay, I'll say I would go back in time and bring scientists with me and create a hairspray that would not cause global warming. But it would still give us '80s hair.
Well, I was in the generation of CDs, so when I moved to L.A., I think I probably brought my Shania Twain 'Come on Over' CD and that's about it.
A lot of people don't know this, but when 'Dancing with the Stars' first asked me to be on the show, I said no, because I wanted to act and to be taken seriously.
It's scary to take risks and it's scary to get out of your comfort zone, but it's also the most rewarding when you do.Collection: Scary
Keep believing in yourself, and don't ever give up, even if people tell you otherwise. Just believe in yourself and take every action you need to get there, whether it's taking more lessons or a fun, cool job in New York or LA and stepping out of the box. Be a little bit risky, but still confident.Collection: Jobs
Friends are the best therapy.Collection: Break Up
I always feel so proud of the things that I was most scared to do, and they usually end up being the right decision. It becomes magic. It's scary, but I always say, when you're scared to do something, you should probably do it.Collection: Decision
When my mind is clear, I feel like I can give more of myself to those around me and hopefully bring light and joy and an infectious kind of energy to inspire them to do whatever they want to do. That's really the key behind it all.Collection: Keys
When you dance on your own there is something so magical and so special.Collection: Special
Dancing is so great because there are all the little details, and the little movements, and the little muscles that are working without you even realizing.Collection: Dancing
One of my mantras is if I'm scared to do something, that means that I have to do it.Collection: Mean
I'd feel a little bit dead inside, if I didn't have dancing. It's such a way of expression and exercise and life and love. You laugh, when you're being corny and dorky-dancing. It's everything.Collection: Life And Love
I’m actually pretty good at stripping, which makes me wonder what happened in my previous life. Funny enough, I don’t wear a lot of clothes when I dance and it’s very sexy, so it wasn’t too hard to get into the motion of it.Collection: Sexy
I'm very blessed and I don't take anything for granted. I think if you alienate people and just focus on your work then it just becomes lonely and it's not fun anymore.Collection: Lonely
I think growing up it was never an issue for me to think about working out or having a healthy lifestyle because I danced so much. Then when I stopped dancing and I got into regular life mode, I didn't realize how much diet and nutrition and being active was so important. Not only for my physical state, but for my mental state, too. I think that's just as important as working out for your physical state.Collection: Growing Up
