My husband was like, 'Sure, we can adopt cats, but you know, I love my dog.' But I have to say he's just as in love with these cats as he is with Bianca the bulldog, and they've really enriched our lives to the point of just complete bliss.
I had two cats growing up that were indoor/outdoor and both of them died from being hit by a car. One of them, she didn't have an ID tag on, so someone just thought it was a stray cat I highly recommend to keep your cats indoors. Their lives end up a lot longer.
It seemed silly to me I was getting all this recognition and attention for being with Howard. So I thought, 'I have this platform, what can I do with it?' Let's put forth my passion of animal rescue.
Dog obesity is a big problem in this country.
If you don't have the energy or time to walk your dog, what I recommend is a doggie treadmill. It takes a little while to get the dogs accustomed to it and they are expensive, but if you're looking for a lavish gift for a dog that's fat, it's really great.

These puppy mills are horrific. It's totally for-profit breeding. It's despicable.

My husband would talk about my volunteer work on his show, and people assumed I was this expert. On a daily basis, they would stop and ask me questions about their dogs.
There's something to be said for going to a shelter and checking out the adults first because you can really get to know the personalities of the animals. Whereas when you get a puppy or kitten, you don't really know what you're going to end up getting.
What's so funny is people are like, 'Why do you just post pictures of cats?' I said, 'If you don't want to see cats that are up for adoption and my rescue work, do not follow me.'
We decided we would have more animals before we would ever have a human baby.
