Honestly I believe that men can wear makeup, teach makeup, and vlog about it just as much as girls can, and I am fighting for that equality with my channel.

As a child, I would watch my mom get ready for work and just sit there for hours watching her transform. However, it wasn't until much later on that I really started to dabble in makeup myself.

I did have pushback in the beginning of my career because my parents weren't really sure what I was going to do with my life going in the route of makeup. I was planning on medical school, so when I threw the makeup wrench at them, they were not expecting that.

Everyone grows at their own pace, and you shouldn't compare yourself to anyone.

Looks aren't everything, obviously, but there really is something to putting on a full face of makeup and really feeling the glam!

To me, being beautiful is just accepting myself. I feel beautiful when I'm wearing makeup; I feel beautiful when I'm not wearing makeup.

I decided to start my channel because my followers on Instagram told me that they wanted to learn how I did the looks I was wearing! So I started YouTube for my Mannyacs, and the rest is history!

At the end of the day, makeup comes off whether you're a man or a woman; why discriminate against men, when makeup is such an amazing form of artistic expression, just because society says it's not 'normal?'

I think that the social media space is great because that's where my bread and butter is, but I want to jump into doing traditional media and other fun things.

I've gone through all of it: I've literally heard every single name in the book be told to me. So don't be discouraged by anyone as long as you're confident in yourself, and just keep doing what you're doing.

I want to act. That'd be so much fun.

I always thought makeup was a beautiful thing, the transformation of it. If someone felt insecure about something, they could put on concealer, and it would change their entire day.

You can always use a toilet seat cover from the stall. It will absorb excess oil, and if you add powder on top, your makeup will be completely refreshed - even if you've been wearing makeup for 6 hours. It's a cool trick to get your makeup looking perfect all over again.

It was hard to get my name out there, but luckily, I have an awesome following who would not stay silent and helped me get to where I wanted to be.

I've always been consumed by things that are out of this world, like space and moons.

I'm a member of the LGBTQ community, and I feel like we need more representation. In the makeup world, especially, it's always been really, really hard for men in beauty to kind of be seen in a way beyond being a 'fad.'

When I was starting off in the beauty world, it wasn't easy. My family wasn't the most forthcoming. My friends didn't understand what I was doing or why I liked doing it.

When I was a young boy, I would watch my mom apply her makeup, so one day, I took a lipstick she had and put it on my mouth, trying to imitate her. It ended up all over my face.

I didn't start wearing makeup until I was in my early 20s, so I never realized that makeup 'wasn't for boys,' as many social norms say.

I believe that society needs to be more open and accepting of things that are seen as 'different.'

Brands started approaching me once I had 800,000 YouTube subscribers. Some girls were getting offers with only 300,000.

I feel like men in beauty have to work a lot harder just to get credibility, because it's such a women's world.

When my publicist told me I was going to be in 'People''s Ones to Watch as Maybelline's honoree, at first I was in shock. Then I thought, 'Wow. This is really happening.' I just feel so happy and honored that they would choose a boy in beauty.

The time I felt most beautiful was probably when I was in college, and I was starting to accept who I was as a person. I wasn't hiding who I was anymore, and I was like, 'You know what? I'm growing up; I don't have to follow the rules anymore.'

I went to a counselor for years, and it wasn't the kind of counseling to help you - it was the 'Let's make you straight' type - but counsellors can help.

I'm a beauty person on YouTube, and I'm very, very, very hyper-aware of things, and I like to dive into products and just really go in and hone in on products - whether I think they're worth the money or not.

I was very sheltered growing up, so the only real beauty exposure I had was my mom. And still, to this day, she is my number 1 beauty icon.
