I am going to keep pushing myself and I would love to get an individual gold medal. That would be amazing.Collection: Amazing
Getting relay medals is just as amazing I feel just as proud to be a part of that as well. But it's a different feeling, I think, getting an individual gold.
I love seeing other people swim quickly, it gives you a bit more motivation to keep pushing and get the best out of yourself.
You can do as much training, the hardest training, and you might get there and not perform how you wanted, not because of lack of training but maybe the pressure you are putting on yourself. That's a major part of being a resilient athlete - it's not just physical, it's mental.
I've always been a proud member of all the relays - and we've had such success in that - but to get that gold individually, I'm very proud and very honored.
I look at the athletes who have come before me and been so impressed with what they have done and been inspired by what they have done, but I've never really looked at the stats of medal counts.
I tried out for the London Olympics, missed it by a little bit, gave it away for a while, and wasn't sure I wanted to wait for another four years.
I think it's just having grown up around all that, it inspires you to excel in the sport that maybe your parents did. We grew up all around the water, and that sort of set our direction.
I was always faster than David when we were younger probably up until I was about 15. And he hated that.
I remember when I was much younger maybe about five, mum, dad, David and I would all race each other one lap of the pool and I remember coming last every time.
Once me and David were older I think he got sick of me beating him so he started training and then just wanted to beat all of my times, which he did pretty quickly.
I never really thought that the 100 would be one of my specialities I guess, but I think that's because of my 200 work - it gives me a good back end and allows me to hold on.
To do a PB in an Olympic final - I'm pretty happy - you can't ask for more, that's the fastest time I have ever swum.
I wasn't sure if I was going to do Pan Pacs because I wanted to focus on other things, like getting my shoulder right again and getting my strength back in the gym.
If I'm just doing the sprints and not have such a massive program, I can really pour everything into it.
When I decided to keep swimming I made the decision to just do it based off enjoying it and making lots of friends out of it.
