I just thought it could make a really cool movie. It’s not that it’s just a buddy comedy but it’s all about two guys hating each other and towards the end they’re good friends. I liked that these two guys were best friends from the very beginning, and they’re crazy.
‘Favoritism’ is always a factor, and pressure always build for the appointment of friends of influential supporters of the President, or for the nominees of powerful Member of Congress from the incoming President’s party.
In closing I wish to say that while I was sorely beset by a number of white riders in my racing days, I have also enjoyed the friendship of countless thousands of white men whom I class as among my closest friends.
In this play we’re dealing with relative truths – who’s lying, who’s telling the truth. But underneath that, Ed and I have hit this deeper level of intimacy between old friends that comes out in the play.
